Flaherty & Collins Properties announced today that Brixx Wood Fired Pizza will serve as the anchor tenant of The Depot at Nickel Plate, a mixed-use development in Fishers. Brixx will occupy the 3,824 square feet of retail space with an additional outdoor dining patio on the southeast corner of Municipal Drive and 116th Street at The Depot.
Brixx offers wood-fired pizzas cooked in brick ovens, salads, pastas and sandwiches built on house made focaccia bread. With a wide-range of toppings, Brixx also has vegan and vegetarian options, as well as whole wheat crust and gluten-free menu items. Additionally, Brixx offers 24 local and national craft beers on tap and 14 wines by the glass — a fresh alternative to the traditional pizza and beer.
Brixx opened in 1998 in the historic Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina and has grown to 25 locations across the Southeast. The Depot at Nickel Plate will be the first location in the Midwest for Brixx.
“We can’t wait to open our doors in Fishers and introduce Brixx to the Midwest,” said Thomas Scaggs of the Next Generation Restaurant Group, the company opening the Brixx location in Fishers. “We’re passionate about serving incredible food, but also about the neighborhoods around us. Fishers has already been so welcoming, we’re excited about getting involved in the community. Brixx is attractive to the lunch, dinner and nightlife crowd, so The Depot at Nickel Plate is a perfect fit.”
Tom Dickey, Director of Community Development for Fishers, agrees. “We are excited that Brixx chose Fishers for the first location in the region. The diverse menu and ambiance is a great fit for the new space, and is sure to attract residents and visitors to the Nickel Plate District.”
The Depot at Nickel Plate, which broke ground in October 2013, will provide an upscale blend of residential and retail uses in a pedestrian friendly, mixed-use development set in the emerging heart of downtown Fishers. With 242 units and 17,000 square feet of retail space, first units will be available this fall, with construction to be completed in April 2015. The Depot will also include approximately 430 structured parking spaces.
“We are excited to partner with Brixx to bring an exciting option to residents of The Depot and of Fishers,” says Chris Kirles, Vice President of Development at Flaherty & Collins Properties. “With their unique options for pizza and beer, it helps further the goal of creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown where people can live, dine, shop and be entertained.”
In addition to Brixx, residents of The Depot at Nickel Plate will enjoy incomparable amenities, including a health club with Fitness OnDemand and a Pilates studio, screening lounge, cyber cafe, gaming lounge, a pet wash, secured bike storage, with a bike wash and repair shop. In addition, two courtyards will create a relaxing and entertaining environment with grilling and dining areas, extensive landscaping, an outdoor TV lounge, fire pit, and a resort style pool with cabanas and a sun shelf.
Apartments feature 9-foot ceilings, 42-inch kitchen cabinets, wood-style floors throughout, glass-tile kitchen backsplash, granite countertops, stainless steel energy efficient appliances and full size washer and dryers. Select units will include Nest® thermostats, Bluetooth® Surround Sound, an upgraded appliance package and rooftop decks for penthouse units.
