Jerry Collins Named 2016 IREM J. Wallace Paletou Award Winner

San Diego, CA – Jerry Collins, CPM, president of Flaherty & Collins Properties, a full-service multifamily development, construction and property management company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, was honored Friday with the 2016 J. Wallace Paletou Award by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Foundation.

The J. Wallace Paletou Award was presented to Collins for his outstanding contributions to the real estate management industry and his extraordinary dedication to the profession. Collins achieved this IREM Foundation Award because he demonstrated leadership and professionalism that impacted his community through many channels and actions. The J. Wallace Paletou Award is an IREM Foundation award conferred upon an individual who has made significant contributions to the real estate management industry or contributed to the betterment of society as a whole through the role of a real estate manager.

Collins has worked in the real estate business more than 35 years, including construction, commercial brokerage, and property management. Before founding Flaherty and Collins, Inc. in 1993, his experience included serving as a Senior Vice President of Property and Asset Management for Revel and a broker for F.C. Tucker.

Along with co-owner David Flaherty, Collins is responsible for the strategic direction, operation and profitability of Flaherty & Collins Properties. He is involved in all aspects of the company and its services, particularly property management, development, construction and human resources. He brings a common sense approach to a complicated business, focusing on providing quality services and outstanding products, as well as recruiting top real estate talent. A CPM, Collins has served as a two-time Chairman of the Board of Drrectors for the Indiana Apartment Association (IAA) and is a founding member of the Residential Property Management Cirriculum Board at Ball State University. He is a board member of Vision Communities, Inc. and a charter member of the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors. Collins enjoys volunteering and supporting several charitable causes, namely, the Mozel Sanders Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, where he’s served on the Board of Directors for many years.
