Indianapolis, IN – Flaherty & Collins Properties is pleased to announce that Chris Kirles has transitioned to President of Construction, while Jason Schoettle has been promoted to Vice President of Construction.
The duo will oversee $300 million in new construction in the next few years, as Flaherty & Collins Properties completes projects in Indianapolis, Fishers and Kansas City, Petersburg and Greensburg, Indiana, with additional projects expected to begin in 2015 in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Kokomo. Additionally, Flaherty & Collins Properties manages nearly 15,500 units nationwide.
Current Construction President Gordon Benner recently announced plans to retire and will move into an Emeritus role, serving as a key consultant and advisor.
“Gordon has been a wonderful asset to Flaherty & Collins Properties over the years,” said Flaherty & Collins Properties President, Jerry Collins. “We thank him deeply for his expansive knowledge and service. We’re excited that Gordon will continue to work with us in a reduced schedule in 2015 and as a strategic consultant beyond that.”
Kirles, who has been with Flaherty & Collins Properties for 10 years, previously served as Vice President of Development at the firm. He was the lead developer on the successful Ninety7Fifty on the Park, the 295-unit, mixed-use development in Orland Park, Illinois and for The Depot at Nickel Plate, the 242 luxury apartment, mixed-use project in Fishers, Indiana that features 17,000 square feet of retail space. He is graduate of Indiana University and the Kelly School of Business.
“Chris’ organizational, operational and development skills will assist us in blending and bridging together the construction and development teams at Flaherty & Collins,” says Flaherty & Collins CEO, David Flaherty. “As we are in the unique and advantageous position of building our own developments, and with a strong pipeline of projects in the coming years, it is vitally important for our development and construction teams to work closely together.”
Schoettle, who has also been with Flaherty & Collins for 10 years, was previously Construction Superintendent and Project Manager with the Construction team at Flaherty & Collins. Schoettle supervised the final phases of both The Depot at Nickel Plate and Axis, a 336 luxury apartment, mixed-use development in downtown Indianapolis that features a 40,000 square foot Marsh and opened in 2014. Schoettle also was the project manager of Cosmopolitan on the Canal, a 218-unit, mixed-use development in downtown Indianapolis that was completed in 2010. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Purdue University, as well as an Associate’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from the school. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
“Jason’s experience, his tremendous attention to detail and on-time, on-budget projects will go a long way to helping ensure all of our construction projects meet these goals and objectives,” says Flaherty. “We’re excited about the future of our construction division with Chris and Jason picking up from the tremendous foundation Gordon laid down.”
