Anew stadium for the Minnesota Vikings football team and a corporate headquarters near Lake Superior are among the Top Projects of 2016 honorees announced Tuesday by Finance & Commerce, which includes 2700 University, Flaherty & Collins Properties mixed-use development on the Green Line in St. Paul.
The U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis and the 11-story Maurices headquarters in Duluth are among 33 projects selected for the annual honors. To be eligible, the projects had to be fully completed by the end of 2016.
A panel of judges looked at the degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts.
The projects will be featured in a magazine and a series of stories and photos in the Minneapolis-based Finance & Commerce daily newspaper and on their website starting in July. The people and companies behind the projects also will be honored at a July 26 event at the Minneapolis Event Center.
