Flaherty & Collins is thrilled to announce that Penny Cha, a fan-favorite boba tea shop known for its vibrant flavors, artistic presentation, and sense of community, will soon open its newest location at The August at Steelpointe Harbor, a mixed-use community located in the heart of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Penny Cha remains the first and only bubble tea shop in Connecticut that makes their boba by hand and we’re excited to bring that unique experience to The August.
Founded with a passion for blending creativity with quality ingredients, Penny Cha has quickly become a destination for bubble tea lovers across the region. The upcoming Bridgeport location will mark an exciting expansion for the brand, bringing its signature handcrafted drinks and community-forward approach to the residents and visitors of The August.

“We deeply believe in the power of community and strive to build that by creating spaces for people to gather over great drinks and a warm atmosphere,” said Veronica McKeown, owner of Penny Cha. “Opening at The August is a natural next step for us—it’s a beautiful, community-centered space that reflects the kind of environment we try to create in our shops. We can’t wait to share our drinks and energy with Bridgeport!”
Penny Cha’s menu features a wide array of handmade boba and specialty teas, using real fruit, premium loose-leaf blends, and house-made syrups—earning it a loyal following and rave reviews across Connecticut.
The new location is currently under construction and is expected to open in summer 2026, with a grand opening celebration to follow. For now, get a sneak peek at their location in Stamford.
